Diving & Snorkelling

Best Time to Dive in Curaçao

Because Curaçao sits below the hurricane belt with steady trade winds, diving is good all twelve months, with only subtle seasonal differences.

Water temperature hovers around 26–28°C year-round, so a thin wetsuit or rash guard is plenty. Visibility is consistently high on the sheltered leeward coast. The calmest, clearest conditions often come in the late spring and autumn shoulder seasons, while the windier months can stir the surface on exposed sites. There is no true off-season for diving here.

Good to know

  • A 3mm wetsuit or rash guard suits the warm water.
  • Shoulder seasons (May–June, Sept–Oct) are calm and quiet.
  • Leeward sites stay diveable even on windier days.

Questions & answers

Does Curaçao have a dive off-season?

No — water stays warm and clear year-round, and the leeward coast is sheltered, so diving is reliable in every month.
