A UNESCO-listed structure, it once defended the harbour entrance alongside Fort Amsterdam across the water. Today you can wander its ramparts for views of the cruise terminal and Queen Emma Bridge, then dine or have a drink in the courtyards below. It is about eight minutes' walk via the bridge from the hotel.
